About the Author
Colleen Schmit was born in Omaha, Nebraska and is the mother of four children. Colleen began her career as an educator of young children in the Omaha Public Schools. She earned her master’s degree in early childhood education at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Colleen currently works as a speaker/author and is an adjunct facilitator for the CDA program through Teachstone. Colleen and her husband Bob enjoy spending time playing with their kiddos and eating lots of pizza.

About the Illustrator
Colleen Schmit (right) and Maggie Ramirez (left) are two sisters from Omaha, Nebraska. They enjoy monkeying around together and eating chili with cinnamon rolls. Colleen’s background involves early childhood education (teaching, program evaluation, and advocacy). Maggie hails with a master’s degree in Conflict Resolution with experience in teaching adult English Language Learners. Together, the two sisters dominate as partners in all of the family-led Pitch tournaments.
